Your Privacy

We take your rights to privacy very seriously. We always endeavour to balance discretion, sensitivity and clear communications. We also comply with the ICSTIS Code of Practice, UK Data Protection Laws and other Regulations.

Below is an outline, in plain English, of what personal data we collect and how we use it.

What data do we hold?

When you watch/browse Jolly Roger or text us from your mobile phone we collect data about the products and services you use/purchase.

We do not hold any other personally identifiable data about you unless you make contact via our Helpline or postal address and provide additional data. This additional personal data is only used for the purpose of communicating with you about your query/problem.

When do we collect your data?

When you text a keyword to a short code we collect your mobile number and details of the service you have requested. We may also be able to identify your network service provider and the make and model of your mobile phone.

When you browse on your mobile we collect your mobile number and network service provider details. We may also be able to identify the make and model of the mobile phone you are using to browse. We also collect data on which products and services you use.

When you use our chat services, we keep a record of the messages that are exchanged.

When you purchase a product or service, we collect data about the product and when it was purchased.

When you contact our Helpline or write to us, we keep a record of any details you provide.

How do we use the data we hold?

Your mobile number and information about the products and services you have used will be retained on a database.

We use the data to support billing for services and to answer any billing queries from you.

Data is also used for statistical purposes, however, reports will not contain information that identifies any individual.

We also use the data to monitor, develop and improve the services that we provide.

From time to time we may send you free service messages to let you know about changes to Jolly Roger and other related WAP/3G services we manage. If you no longer wish to receive these free discrete messages, text STOP to 69800, 89303 or 85020 at any time (depending on service used).

How discrete is the service?

When we send a link to your mobile, it will contain a short text description so you can identify the service.

When we bill you via SMS billing, you will receive a discrete message (eg. “Thank you for using the service. This is a billing message for the WAP service you have enjoyed.”)

When we send you a free service message, it will indicate which service it relates to together with the service message.

If you receive an itemised bill from you mobile network service provider, our charges are normally listed under “Video Calling“ or “Premium Messaging” along with the date/time of the billing transaction. As the actual detail shown on your bill is determined by your network service provider, we recommend that you contact them if you have any concerns over what may appear on your bill. See our Network Help section for contact details of the UK network providers.

Who has access to your data?

When required by law we may disclose your data to the police, regulatory bodies or legal advisers.

In order to provide the services and deal with any enquiries from you, our employees and agents may need to access your personal data from time to time.

We may also provide general statistical information about the user base, usage trends, sales patterns, traffic volumes and related matters to our employees, agents or reputable third parties but these details will not include information personally identifying you.

We do not pass or sell your data to third parties for any other purpose. Any marketing about third party products, services or events is conducted by us on behalf of third parties and they do not have any access to data unless you then choose to contact the third party yourself.

How safe is your data?

We take all reasonable steps to protect your data. It is stored on a secure server where access is strictly controlled.
